Job Description
Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) / Cybersecurity Specialist
The ISSO ensures daily compliance with cybersecurity policies and directives, maintaining security documentation, audit records, and incident reports. Responsibilities include vulnerability scanning, patch verification, audit log reviews, and incident handling. The ISSO supports the development and maintenance of the Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation and works directly with Government security teams during inspections and audits.
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
3–5 years in an ISSO or equivalent cyber role
Experience managing IA documentation and insider threat compliance.
Tools/Software: Tenable/Nessus, HBSS, STIG Viewer, ServiceNow GRC, Splunk.
Training and Certifications:
DoD 8570/8140 certification required (Security+ minimum; CISSP or CISM preferred).
Security Clearance:
Active TS/SCI and the willingness to sit for a polygraph, if needed
