Job Description
Expert and Sr. Data Scientist
Expert Data Scientist Education and Experience
Required:
Minimum 18 years of total relevant experience
Bachelors and Masters STEM degree can count for up to an additional 5 years of experience
4+ years of experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases and cloud architectures
Experience leveraging APIs to query systems and migrate data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts
Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
Experience developing, sustaining, and monitoring operational data pipelines supporting multiple data formats and interfaces.
Prior imagery/geospatial experience
Desired:
Experience working with NGA IT enterprise solutions (e.g., NGA CORE, NGA MLOps), ATO processes, and Government NPE certificates; experience implementing processes, standards, and tools within an organization based on the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise; experience developing dynamic visualizations.
Sr. Data Scientist Education and Experience
Required:
Minimum 10 years of total relevant experience
Bachelors and Masters STEM degree can count for up to an additional 5 years of experience
Experience working with AI/ML technologies and data systems
Experience working with multiple file types including geospatial file formats, JSON, XML, etc.
3+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis, developing visualizations, and processing complex data to create data-driven insights
Development experience in Python and other languages for data cleaning and manipulation
Prior imagery/geospatial experience
Desired:
Experience applying NLP algorithms to extract data from documents; experience with enterprise NGA analytic modernization efforts such as SOM, Computer Vision, automated collection, or automated reporting along with data standardization best practices; demonstrated expertise in math, statistics, and quantitative analysis; experience with various analytic techniques such as classification, regression, clustering, data reduction, and causal modeling.
Security Clearance:
Current TS/SCI and the willingness to sit for a polygraph, if needed
