SQL Server Database Administrator

Job Description:

Maintain responsibility for database administration activities, ensuring optimal performance on the Microsoft Windows SQL Server database architecture. Ensure the long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall database systems planning of the organization. Maintain responsibility for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implement Microsoft Windows SQL Server operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Troubleshoot issues with the reliability and performance of the Microsoft SQL Server database, as required. 

 

 

Requirements:

-Experience with using database tools, including Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server 
-Experience with disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, database replication, high availability, and data monitoring, including administering, maintaining, analyzing, and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring database security and integrity 
-Ability to perform Microsoft Windows SQL Server and other DBMS database and application server administration 
-Ability to perform database and software lifecycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements 
-Active TS/SCI clearance required; willingness to take a polygraph exam
-HS diploma or GED and 8 years of experience with systems administration, AA or AS degree and 6 years of experience with systems administration, BA or BS degree and 4 years of experience with systems administration, MA or MS degree and 2 years of experience with administration, or PhD Degree 
-DoD 8570 Compliance IAT Level II Certification within 60 days of start
