Data Scientist Senior-Level 117-001 | | | 07/26/2024 | Senior Data Scientist supports NSG strategies through the creation of automated collection models, dynamic analytic models, workflow automations, and any other automation processes and products as assigned. Refine, enhance and improve the operational performance of any automated solution through the evaluation of performance data, regular customer interaction, and a standardized maintenance cycle. Apply data science and visual programming tradecraft to support and streamline analysis tasks as identified by stakeholders and the Government. Enhance technical solutions to problems related to intelligence integration, automated collections, tipping and cueing, information sharing, and visualization. Conduct extensive collections and analytic modeling, data processing, and data mining. Conduct gap analysis on existing technologies and processes. Provide communication to customers on the progress of projects, processes, and emerging technologies as they become available. Clearly communicate data-driven findings and automation to technical and non-technical audiences. Design, integrate, and maintain Bayesian Belief Network (BBN) processes that utilize automation tools or scripts to drive predictive, activity-based automated collection. Conduct customer elicitation to identify processing problems due to procedures, tools, and services; work arounds that may need a permanent solution; and gaps in tools and technology. Train and integrate new tools, processes, and capabilities to be used in collection orchestration. Provide support for emerging requirements as assigned by the Government.
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining with Python and SQL 7+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis Experience with code repositories such as GitLab Experience with Python geospatial packages such as GeoPandas and Shapely Ability to independently complete technical projects with little to no oversight

Duties include:
Conducts requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG) and Federal Agencies. Conducts planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architectures traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Develops solutions designs based on analysis of requirements and new technology and mentor Junior Engineers in developing these skill sets. Assists the Government in the capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions. Supports the analyses and allocation of requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs. Assists the Government in performing systems integration activities. Education and Experience:
Required
6 to 12 years' experience Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or equivalent Mid level experience as a Systems Engineer. Mid-level working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments. Mid-level working system engineering experience in government or industry.

Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages. Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks. INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification. Documented work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence. Membership or active participation in any of the following professional organizations: ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF Working knowledge of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields. Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
