Job Description
System Engineer Mid-level Commercial Imagery:
Position Description:
Seeking a motivated product quality SYSTEM ENGINEER. The candidate will lead the planning, test development, data definition, and task execution for assessing the quality and utility of imagery and imagery products from commercial sensor constellations. The candidate will need to write clear test plans to satisfy test objectives. They will lead a team of image scientists, image analysts, photogrammetrists, and statisticians to perform specific tasks, track issues, and clearly communicate status and results to multiple stakeholders. The candidate should have a working knowledge of and experience with commercial constellations to include:
Commercial EO (i.e., video and/or multi-sensor systems operating throughout the visible and infrared portions of the electro-magnetic spectrum).
Commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).
Commercial Hyperspectral (HSI)
Candidate should understand both operational and emerging commercial sensor constellations and the unique spectral, spatial, and temporal capabilities they provide. This includes constellations leveraging small satellites, space-based, airborne, and/or ground based sensors. The qualified candidate should have experience with test design to verify and validate products against requirements to meet planned concept of operations. The work includes product visual quality, as well as the accuracy of the support data.
Required Experience/Education:
Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering, or a related Science or Engineering.
5-10 years of system engineering experience, to include independent testing and data verification, requirements, and development of concept of operations..
Experience with sensor imaging systems, products, data formats, and exploitation processes.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with emphasis on briefing to obtain decisions and solve technical issues and test plans/reports writing.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team .
Willingness to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Skillset:
Experience in remote sensing phenomenologies (for example EO/IR/SAR).
Knowledge of tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED) image chains.
Experience with product quality assessments, visual or metadata assessments
