Job Description
Storage Engineer Level 3:
We have positions available in Colorado Springs, CO as well.
The Storage Engineer (Storage) evaluates, implements, and maintains Storage Area Networks (SANs) and storage systems across enterprise platforms. The evaluation, design, implementation, and support of Storage and Backup Infrastructures. The Storage Administrator performs storage allocations and capacity planning for infrastructure components. The Engineer functions as a Tier 3 resource troubleshooting escalated issues and performing root cause analysis as needed. Contributes and develops best practices, methodologies, templates, and documentation. Provides recommendations for the improvement of the infrastructure and works with the Storage & Backup O&M team and end customers for cross-functional tasks. Maintains updated knowledge of industry trends and new technologies and recommends future initiatives.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Troubleshoot SAN (including NetApp, Dell/EMC systems) platform issues and perform other system support tasks such as monitoring, log management, tier 3 incident and problem escalation support, performance monitoring, and hardware replacement
Provide dedicated support for troubleshooting of Storage and SAN platform issues and users questions; work with users to resolve tickets
Support patch and maintenance of infrastructure systems to be compliant with security scans. Work with engineering to improve the supportability of the domains and maintain the application delivery systems
Provide direct support to other Server infrastructure teams and cross-train to alleviate single points of failure and meet ongoing responsibilities
Investigate, evaluate, and recommend other viable hardware and software solutions as appropriate; identify efficiency opportunities
Interpret and implement system standards, processes, and security specifications to maintain organizational IT standards
Provide formal documentation and status reports to fulfill organizational compliance requirements and to serve as reference material for other teams.
Install operate and maintain network and storage appliances
Install patches and perform system updates
Manage storage allocation space, and replication strategies
Analyze and resolve problems related to storage systems and network storage solutions
Troubleshoot and restore complex storage problems across the enterprise related to replication strategies and storage strategies across wide area networks
Recover data when required.
Provide recommendations on storage upgrades and supports project integration as required.

High School Diploma + 6 years
Associate's Degree + 4 years
Bachelor's Degree + 2 years
Master's Degree + 0 years
Requirements:
8570 Compliance, IAT Level II certification
Dell/EMC/NetApp Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration.
Storage experience – Dell/EMCNetApp Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration
Backup and Recovery Management, Storage Architectures.
VMWare vCenter, VMware vSAN
Strong Experience with high performance storage hardware solutions (EMC, NetApp, Pure), Fiber channel SAN fabrics (Brocade/Cisco) and NAS solutions (Veritas, NetApp), Backup solution (Cohesity, Rubrik, NetBackup)
Strong experience in Block, File, Object and Cloud enabled data storage, tiering, and availability systems and methodologies.
Experience in networking and network adjacent technologies for storage front channel and back channel (Ethernet, Infiniband, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP)
Experience with Hyperconverged and Software-Defined infrastructure (HCI, SDI, vSAN, S2D).
Experience in developing automation, monitoring, logging, performance metrics, and tuning systems for optimal performance, forensics, and 24/7 reliability
Experience in automation, configuration management and Infrastructure as Code(IaC) software and programming languages such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Powershell, Python, Javascript.
Experience in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Training and Certifications:
DoD 8570 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required within the task order.
Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required and IT environment specified within the task order.
