Senior Principal GIS Engineer:
Candidates will be working to support the transformation of all-source analysis with location-based object services. Visualizing and recreating the tools to assist analysts with protecting our nation.
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
Plans and leads major technology assignments.
Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
May supervise others.
Design, analyze and develop geo-spatial solutions and product specifications for infrastructure, hydrographic and physiographic features for global geo-spatial images and vector products.
Performs geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on natural resources data.
Plans, designs, develops, documents and analyzes spatial and relational databases.
Applies software to manage spatial and related tabular data.
Builds databases by capturing map information with coordinate digitizer.
Produces computer map products depicting contents of databases.
Locates sources of GIS data
9+ Years’ experience software engineering and development for GIS applications using Agile and DevSecOps
Bachelor of Science degree
GIS software engineer supporting the FISHNet scrum team
Performs software engineering and development activities associated with maintaining and enhancing FISHNet using an Agile DevSecOps model
Designs and implements geospatial enhancements such as geospatially-oriented data discovery and query (e.g., geographic search) using OGC geospatial services (e.g., OpenLayers, Cesium, Leaflet)
Uses processes and tools that support the DevSecOps pipeline including JIRA, Git, Junit, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, and Artifactory
Supports trade studies / analyses of alternatives and assessments of potential technologies that may be applicable to FISHNet, and provides recommendations.
Develops or provides input to engineering artifacts
Esri Geospatial Services (e.g. ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Workflow Manager, Production Mapping extension), Java, JIRA, Git, Junit, web services
