SME Instructor Geographic Science Human Geographer Level 1:
General Duties and Experience:
Delivers in-resident and distributed learning instructional programs in accordance with course requirements.
Uses instructional methods such as, guided discussions, lectures, demonstrations, small group exercises, seminars, workshops, and laboratories.
Uses instructional technology, including but not limited to Blackboard.
Conducts assessment strategy in accordance with the course design, including instructor observation, testing, and grading.
Provides formal and informal student feedback.
Provides subject matter expertise throughout the curriculum creation process, including content review and feedback to development staff.
Relevant instructional experience includes, but is not limited to, experience developing and delivering technical training and educational courses in academic, commercial, government, or industrial organizations.
Relevant subject matter expertise experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in technical field as described in the Instructor technical competency requirements by the work role.
Work Role: Cartographer, Foundation GEOINT Officer, Human Geographer, and Human Geography Linguist Training
Desired degrees in one of the following:Anthropology, Air Traffic Control (ATC), Air Traffic Management, Cartography, Commercial Aviation, Cultural/Foreign Area Studies, Earth Sciences, Flight, Flight Education, Flight Science, Professional Flight, Professional Flight Technology, Foreign Language, Geography, Geodesy, Geology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), History, Hydrography, Hydrology, International Affairs/Studies, Liberal Arts, Linguistics, Mathematics, Maritime Science, Oceanography, Photogrammetry, Physical Sciences, Statistics, or Social Sciences.
The candidate must meet the competency requirements in Applicable Document 9.9, Geographic Science Competency Guides, for a respective Geographic Science work role with skills at or higher than intermediate skills. Applicable Document 9.15 will indicate the required number and skill level of each Collection candidate.
Possess a working knowledge of the application of GIS and analysis of geospatial data to solve intelligence problems that may face the DoD or the Intelligence Community.
Demonstrated fundamental knowledge of the principles and applications of imagery interpretation, digital image processing systems, collections, and sensor phenomenology.
Knowledge of geospatial data and imagery analysis, including how to use image science, analytic methods, data science, open-source research, and human geography to characterize events, discover relationships and trends, and produce GEOINT.
Hybrid geospatial analyst and imagery analyst.
Knowledge of GEOINT tradecraft and learning.
Knowledge of national imagery exploitation processes, policies, and production cycles and the principles and applications of geographic information systems (GIS).
Expertise in geospatial analysis using GIS tools (ArcGIS)
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in area of expertise plus three years of experience
Six years of relevant experience. The expertise must align with the work role.
Three years of relevant instructor experience.
