F5 Systems Engineer

Job Description:

Analyze users' requirements, the concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations and develop system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment of systems engineering management plans, system integration, and test plans and interact with the client regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

 

 

Requirements:

-Experience with designing, deploying, managing, and configuring enterprise load balancing solutions using F5 technologies

-TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take polygraph exam

-AA or AS degree and 10+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering, including maintaining responsibility for high systems availability and secure systems posture, such as patching and maintenance or BA or BS degree and 8+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering

-DoD 8570 Certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise traffic load balancing solutions using F5 products

-Experience in the integration of F5 services with systems monitoring tools, including SolarWinds, Splunk, or Microsoft SCOM

-Experience with analyzing and enhancing operational procedures and new, innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges

-Knowledge of ITIL change management and problem management best practices

-Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent team collaboration skills

-BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Network Engineering

-F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA), F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-TS), or F5 Certified Solutions Expert (F5-CSE) Certification

-ITILv3 Certification
