Linux Systems Administrator
Job Description:
Provide application and server administration support for DoDIIS organizational messaging systems and projects. Maintain responsibility for the configuration, monitoring, integration, and backup or recovery for production systems running UNIX or Linux to ensure high availability of the messaging applications being hosted. Analyze or review standard operating procedures and other system documentation, as required. Provide instruction and guidance to 24/7 military watch personnel regarding operational issues. Assist internal and external customers with organizational messaging issues.
Requirements:
-4+ years of experience with supporting organizational messaging systems or processes
-Experience with defense messaging systems, including SMART.neXT or M3
-Ability to work independently and with a team as a member or a team leader
-Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take polygraph exam
-HS diploma or GED and 10 years of experience with IT, AA or AS degree and 8 years of experience with IT, BA or BS degree and 6 years of experience with IT, MA or MS degree and 4 years of experience with IT, or PhD and 2 years of experience with IT
-8570 Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
Desired:
-Experience with UNIX, Linux, or Solaris
-Possession of excellent written and oral communications skills
